Google Duo Officially Launched…for Users.

One of the most awaited apps of android from Google is launched yesterday, Google Duo.The video chatting app that went on display by Google at their Developer conference on May 18,2016,is now launched for public . I have been using this app for two days now and the functioning of the app is superb. It is fast, easy to use and almost with no complications. To call, you can just tap on the face of the contact and they answer and you will have a one to one face video chat on.

First of all, how the duo works. It is available for both Android and iPhones. When you start the app ,it simply sign you up and then check for the phone number and send you the confirmation text .The whole process is very simple. No friend list to be maintained or separate accounts to be created.

The best part of the application is the simplicity of it.Though it comes with some flaws,i.e.it does not support conference calling. You cannot call someone other than Phones.

The new feature in this application is the ‘Knock Knock’. When you receive a call on Android (it doesn’t work on the iPhone), your entire screen starts showing the live video from your caller before you even answer. It lets you see who’s calling — and lets the caller make funny faces to try to entice you to answer.Google’s promo video for Duo emphasizes it heavily:

Duo is the second of the two apps, Google announced at the Developer conference.Google Allo is the other app, we are all eagerly waiting for now.The messaging app that will change the way to message people.

Hangouts on the other hand will continue to exist, but with an Enterprise focus.

Duo does one-on-one video chat very well, which is what Google set out to make it do. The question now is whether or not that’s enough.

News from Official Blackberry blog:

This is the news you’ve been waiting for! I am thrilled to tell you that we are about to officially resume our rollout of BBM for Android and iPhone customers around the globe!* In the next few hours, people will start seeing BBM in Google Play, the App Store and in select Samsung App Stores – where it will be free to download.

The demand for BBM on Android and BBM on iPhone continues to be amazing. About six million people signed up for information about BBM at BBM.com. As you know, in just seven hours, about one million Android users were using the unreleased version of BBM for Android. What you don’t know is that more than one million people have found creative ways to “side load” BBM on their iPhone. This is incredible.

To help manage this unprecedented pent up demand for BBM, we are implementing a simple line-up system to ensure a smooth roll out. Here’s how it is going to work…

BBM Roll Out Details:

  1. Download BBM – the easiest way is to visit BBM.com from your Android or iPhone browser*
  2. Once you install the app, open it, and enter your email address to hold your spot in line
  3. We will email you as soon as you reach the front of the line and can start using BBM

If you are among the millions that took the time to sign up at BBM.com, you can start using BBM immediately without waiting in line.* If you didn’t sign up in advance, don’t worry – we are focused on moving millions of customers through the line as fast as possible.

Our team of developers and engineers has been working around the clock to bring you BBM – and make some upgrades while we’re at it – and some incredible work has been done. I look forward to sharing more of this with you here, on Inside BlackBerry, soon.

For updates on how quickly the line is moving you can follow @BBM on Twitter. I will be back tomorrow with another post to provide you with an update on the line-up and to share more detail about the work the team has done over the last several weeks.

Lastly, thank you for your patience. We know you’re excited (we are too!) and we look forward to having you join us on BBM.

The handset, which has not yet been released, was seen on the play store by the eagle-eyed Android police.

The details of Google’s new Nexus 5 smartphone have been revealed on the web by mistake.

The handset, which has not yet been released, was seen on the play store by the eagle-eyed Android police.

According to the Daily Star, the picture, which was taken off the store shortly after the image was snapped, e shows how the new handset will look and it’s also the first time Android 4.4 Kit Kat has been seen.

The phone looks similar to the Nexus 7 tablet with a rubberised back and embossed Google logo.

Android Kit Kat gives the icons a make over and you’ll notice the SMS app has been replaced by Google Hangouts, the report said.

The price was also displayed at 349 dollars, which makes it a very affordable smartphone.

The Nexus 5 is likely to be on sale before the end of the year, although Google are staying tight-lipped.

FIFA ’14 on ANDROID

FIFA14-EA-Sports

Following Madden 25 last week, EA’s leading soccer/football title FIFA 14 is now available on Android through Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. Like the console version, FIFA features a wealth of real-world clubs, tournaments and players, as well as commentary in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. EA’s Football Club Match Day feature also lets you play along with real-world fixtures from this year’s leagues, including real-time updates of injuries and suspensions.

Like Madden, the new FIFA follows a “freemium” pricing model — there’s no charge to download the app, but you’ll pay real money for in-game stuff. As we’ve come to expect from big-name EA games, the graphics are slick and the controls work reasonably well too.

But you’re also looking at a pretty big download for FIFA 14 — 1.35GB in fact, so you might want to check your internal storage before you download. Grab it from Google Play using the button above — which will get you a free gold premium pack — or head on over to Amazon to pick it up from them.
